Using Essential Oils for Emotional Regulation

Yesterday during the Zoom session with Doterra Malaysia, I was asked about how I use essential oils in my practice with Nouri Circle. That reminds me of my offline sessions in my office where I diffuse according to what I feel is necessary for each session.


But I don't think I explained in detail how those choices were made. So, I'm writing it today to help you further understand how to choose the correct oil for every situation or crisis.


Feelings arise when there are needs that are or aren't fulfilled. For example, "I feel happy because I need assurance" is an example of a feeling arising from a fulfilled need whilst "I feel upset because I need understanding" is an example of a feeling which arises from an unmet need.


So, whenever you feel triggered, stop and ask yourself, "<your name>, are you feeling <insert feeling guesses> because you are needing <insert need guesses>?"

Example: "Izam, are you feeling sad because you are needing forgiveness?" etc.


When the feelings match the needs, you will notice your body relaxing, you will feel like you make sense and there will be clarity in your mind.


Then, the next step is making requests or strategies that would help in making your needs met. If you have the Doterra Emotion Oils in hand, this would really help.


What is it that you need?

Motivation?

Consolation?

Cheerfulness?

Forgiveness?

Passion?

Peace?


Well, the good news is, I have an oil for that!
